Every month we spotlight one of our sets and share how real families and classrooms are using it. This month: the Fruits set, our all-time bestseller across all five languages.
Why fruits?
Fruits are a perfect first vocabulary set. Every child already knows at least a few fruit names in their native language, which creates an immediate bridge to the new language. The vocabulary is also highly visual. Pictures of an apple, a banana, or a strawberry are instantly recognizable. And they're fun to say out loud in any language.
What's in the set
The Fruits set covers 12 words: apple, banana, strawberry, orange, grapes, watermelon, pineapple, mango, cherry, pear, peach, and kiwi. Each word appears across 6 exercise types, from simple recognition to free recall from memory.
How families use it
We've heard from parents who tape the completed Exercise 1 sheet to the fridge and point to it at mealtimes. "Every time we have fruit, my daughter runs to the sheet to find the word," one parent told us. That kind of incidental reinforcement is exactly what makes vocabulary stick.
In the classroom
Teachers love the Fruits set as a starter theme because it connects to real life immediately. One teacher described using it alongside a cooking activity where students named each ingredient in the language they were learning. The hands-on context made the vocabulary unforgettable.
